A sea of abandoned tents, gazebos and inflatable mattresses and piles of litter have been left behind by revelers at Reading Festival in Berkshire after the three-day weekend.
It left the staff with huge clean-up of 60,000 one and two-man tents and piles of litter.
The collection is believed to be worth as much as £1 million.
Organisers have to fund the clean-up costs from ticket sales. They said in a message on their website that majority of tents removed from the site will have to be dumped as rubbish instead of given to a charitable cause.
A sea of litter, drink cans and cardboard food containers were also left beside the town’s Rivermead Leisure Centre.

A spokesman for Reading Borough Council said:
‘The festival organizers oversee any clean up on the festival site. The council cleans outside of the event area in the surrounding parkland and roads. The cost of any additional clean-up work required is covered by the festival organizers. This work begins on the Tuesday prior to the event and finishes on the Monday bank holiday evening, operating for 21 hours each day.’
The three-day event was attended by more than 100,000 people with tickets costing up to £250 each.
Last year, more than 13,000 tents were dumped at the campsite along the River Thames.
