Wrongly sent text messages are quite common nowadays.
Since almost every person owns a cell phone, that means you would have as many contacts in your phone book as you would people you actually know. This means the average person would be receiving and sending a handful of texts each day so it wouldn’t be surprising if one of those messages went awry.
Normally, the person receiving a wrong text would just shrug, delete the text, and move on. But one father named Tony, who lives in Spring Hill, Tennesse, decided to do things a little differently and he had no idea how big a difference that small decision would make to him and his family.
It happened when a girl named Syd was trying on dresses and sent Tony a text by mistake. Syd wanted an opinion on which dress she should choose. Tony thought that he’d spread a little love and positivity around so he gave his opinion on what dress looked nice. But he also decided to let his kids give their opinions on what dress Syd should choose.
What ensued was a heartwarming exchange between Syd and Tony and his kids. Tony actually has six children but there were only five children in the picture because the sixth kid, Kaizler, was in the hospital getting chemotherapy for his leukemia.
When Syd found out about little Kaizler’s condition, she was touched. Syd’s opinion exchange with Tony’s family went viral on Twitter and soon so did Kaizler’s story. The sudden outpouring of help was beyond what Tony could have imagined when he answered that wrong text. So far, Tony and his family have received over $3,000 in donations to help in Kaizler’s treatments.
Tony’s wife, Rachel, also couldn’t believe what happened.
In an interview with Bored Panda, she said, “It is so refreshing to be reminded that there are good people in the world who still care about others and are quick to be generous and kind to others.I would also like to thank EVERYONE from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words, all the prayers, all the donations, all the love, and support.
We honestly would never have been able to make it this far in our journey without every single one of you!!!”It’s just amazing how a little act of kindness between strangers can really come back in a big, big way. Especially in the case of Kaizler, cancer treatment does not come cheap. According to Tony, the amount they received in donations because of Syd’s help is more than they had received prior to that in the last two years.
We can only hope and continue to pray for Kaizler’s continuing recovery.
