Situated in London’s Covent Garden, Pick & Cheese, features a 40-meter conveyor belt, with 25 different types of cheese.
Pick & Cheese has it’s very own Cheese Bar where customers can choose what kind of cheese they’d like to try.
And if you don’t get your tie stuck in the conveyor belt while you’re drooling over the options like Jonny English… well you’re just doing it wrong.
The London company started a cheese van in early 2014 at Maltby Street Market in southeast London and would travel around UK festivals.
It all started as a small business, operated from a van in a South East London market. But, slowly it turned into a flourishing business when the founder Matthew Carver started driving it around UK food festivals – including Glastonbury.
After working two years on the road, Matthew had crowdfunded enough to start his own restaurant in Camden which he named The Cheese Bar.
But following on from this, the brand decided to set up the world’s first conveyor belt restaurant to “encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and try something new”.
There are over 25 different kinds of cheese on offer – including slabs of Stilton and Jalapeno poppers full of mozzarella – there’s something for everyone here.
Customers can either sit on stools at the bar to take full advantage of the conveyor belt set up or book to eat in a booth where waiting staff will serve you.
“It’s our attempt to shake up the traditional cheese and wine bar format,” the restaurant says, “and encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and try something new!
“Our aim is to share our food with as many people as possible, whilst informally educating our customers on how great British produce can be.
“The price of our dishes fairly reflect the quality of their ingredients, as well as the time and energy it’s taken to get them to your plate. That being said, we’ll always keep our food affordable and accessible.
“We want everyone to embrace it, and be part of our British cheese revolution!”
