Last week, we heard the good news that the very popular Naughty Dog game and PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us, is getting its TV adaptation.
It is said that it will be aired on HBO. And now, it is confirmed that composer Gustavo Santaolalla will join the team to score the show.

Some fans are worried about how the TV show will come out because game to TV/movie adaptations doesn’t generally do well. The guy behind the soundtrack can only strengthen its feeling of authenticity.
Santaolalla isn’t new to scoring for TV either. He has done several shows and movies, including the Netflix documentary Making a Murderer, and the movie Brokeback Mountain.
More details coming out slowly after the initial announcement of the upcoming The Last of Us TV show last week. The series will show the events of the first game. We don’t know that if the series will cover the entire storyline or just part of it. It is not confirmed that it will be written and produced by the game’s director Druckmann, alongside Chernobyl creator, Craig Mazin.
Earlier this week, Druckmann shared a look via Twitter of some of the characters. We can expect to see these characters on the TV show. Ellie is in there, and she will be joined by Riley, Tess, Marlene, Maria, as well as a “few others”. And interestingly, one name was blanked out in the tweet, so we can expect a big surprise.
It is not revealed yet on when The Last of Us HBO adaptation will air. On the plus side, The Last of Us Part II is set for release in a couple of months, on May 29.
