Dwayne Johnson hilariously reacted to his doppelganger cop who went viral for looking similar to him.
Dwayne Douglas Johnson, 49, also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American actor, producer, businessman, and retired professional wrestler.
Considered as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, he wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now known as WWE) for eight years prior to pursuing an acting career.
His films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide, making him one of the world’s highest-grossing and highest-paid actors.
Photos of Dwayne’s uncanny lookalike surfaced on social media a few days ago identifying the officer as Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields of Alabama.
The 49-year-old star reshared a tweet posted by @BleacherReport which featured a side-by-side comparison of Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office on the left and Johnson on the right.
Dwayne responded to the viral photo saying “Oh s**t! Wow. Guy on the left is way cooler. Stay safe brother and thank you for your service.”
He added that “one day we’ll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your “Rock stories” because I KNOW you got ’em.” Teremana is the “Jungle Cruise” star’s brand of tequila.
Both photos are taken at the same angle and show each man with the same smirk, same shaved haircut, and huge biceps.
The picture was liked more than 1,800 times on Facebook, prompting others to share it on TikTok, with one woman imploring others to spot the uncanny similarities between The Rock and Fields.
Lieutenant Eric Fields, 37, has worked for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years. He told AL.com that it’s been a “running joke” for him that he looks so much like both The Rock and Vin Diesel.
“I’ve been called The Rock and Vin Diesel’s love child,” Fields said. “I go along with it. It’s humorous. It’s flattering. It could be worse people, I guess.”
“I’m a bit of a cross between The Rock and Vin Diesel,” Fields told local news website Alabama dot com. “Remember, The Rock is 6ft 4in and 260lbs, and I’m only 6ft 2in and 230lbs.”
Fields also confessed that if he’s mistaken for The Rock, he happily takes pictures with people so as not to let them down or make them feel bad.
“I don’t want to disappoint anybody,” the cop said. “I walk up one day and at a different angle, I don’t know. It’s flattering, but it’s also a little nerve-racking as far as what others expect I guess.”
“I just plan on being me,” he continued. “I’ll cut up. I’m a big cut-up. If it comes up and somebody says that, I’ll play along. I really couldn’t be anybody but me. I’m just glad I could be part of someone’s happiness and laughter.”
Fields replied on Johnson’s tweet by posting a picture of him glaring at the camera with a bottle of The Rock’s own brand Teremana tequila in his hand captioned with “Thanks brother & cheers”.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office also went ahead and retweeted The Rock’s post on their own official page.
Officer Fields explained that his resemblance to Johnson offers a unique way for him to engage with the community he serves.
“We really love to get involved with the community, cut up and be neighbors,” he said. “Not just enforcement.”
