The footage shows Alex’s mother Jen Denman says ‘’Hello, it’s mummy’’ and the little boy smiles with joy hearing these words.
Jen Denman appeared with Alex on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and talked about the moment that was filmed in July.
Doctors discovered Alex had a partial hearing loss after a routine newborn hearing test.
The mother said that she is learning baby sign language, introducing its use to her family so that as Alex gets older he will be able to understand.
Jen said: “The earlier you start it, the easier. Every time we say milk, mummy, daddy and brother we use sign language.”
