The investigators are still working on determining the cause of the cash. The Federal Safety Investigators are going through several factors, including the helicopter’s medical records as well as the pilot’s history.
However, it is said that it was the foggy weather that caused the crash. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the weather that day was dangerous to fly a helicopter, and that’s the reason they had grounded their choppers.
However, it was found that Kobe’s chopper received a special permit to fly in the foggy weather.
As per the officials, the pilot who flew the chopper had asked for air traffic controllers to provide him with ‘flight following’ support in his last radio message. He was told that the chopper was too low to get flight following.
After that, the pilot said on the radio that he is climbing up to prevent the cloud layer so that he can see clearly. When the air traffic control followed up, they received no reply from the pilot.
Kobe Bryant was one of the most popular Basketball players in the world and probably the most famous athlete in the United States.
The 41-year-old was accompanied by his daughter Gianna, a well-known college basketball coach, John Altobelli, coach’s daughter Alyssa, and wife Keri.
The chopper’s pilot Ara Zobayan and Christina Mauser also died. Among the other victims of the chopper crash were Peyton, Gianna’s teammate, and Peyton’s mom Sarah Chester.
According to the medical examiner, it will probably take a week or two to recover the victims’ remains because of the rugged terrain.
People are still trying to process this sad news. May the victims’ families get all the power and courage to cope with this difficult situation.
