Elijah Ross-Rutter recently lost his mother to coronavirus.
The last he saw her, he was looking at her through a small glass window in her hospital room. Elijah with his 5 siblings bid goodbye to their mother using a walkie-talkie.
Elijan, the fourth-oldest child, said that he told his mother he loved her and she should not worry about her children.
The forty-two-year-old mother Sundee Rutter was the single mother of 6 children and recently beat breast cancer but could not survive the coronavirus disease.
Sundee died on 16th March. However, in her last moments, she was fortunate enough to have her mother, sister, and all of her children outside her hospital room saying goodbye to her using a handheld radio device.
Sundee was recovering from breast cancer when she got diagnosed with the coronavirus disease.
During her cancer treatments, Sundee was lucky enough to have her friends and family by her side but when she got coronavirus, she could no longer meet them and could talk only through the glass window and other devices.
In the beginning, her children were allowed to meet her with face masks on but the hospital soon isolated their mother.
Elijah said that it felt like he was about to lose his best friend and she could not even hear him.
He described the initial situation that his mother and he spent 8 hours in a sealed room with medical staff entering and exiting the room wearing full protective suits. He added that they did not even want to touch his mother.
The twenty-year-old son said that the family was shocked to know that their mother had coronavirus because it was not common in their city at that time. Their mother slowly stopped replying to their messages because she grew weak.
