A video of a thirsty squirrel drinking entire bottle of water from a tourist’s bottle is going viral on the Internet, and this is probably one of the cutest videos that we have ever seen.
Paul Camps, from Gloucester, recently visited the Grand Canyon National Park where temperatures hover around 87F at this time of year.
When he was exploring Grand Canyon National Park, he noticed a squirrel who was acting strangely. The squirrel was following Paul and his girlfriend.
Mr. Camps said: ‘The squirrel began to follow me and put its arms up to me like it wanted picking up.’
Paul couldn’t understand at first, but then the squirrel did something that made Paul realize what she wanted from them.
‘I passed my water bottle to my girlfriend so I could take a picture on my phone – and as I did, the squirrel began to put its arms up towards my girlfriend.’
Watch the thirsty squirrel gulping down the entire bottle of water
They realized that the squirrel was thirsty and wanted to drink water.
Paul immediately offered water to the thirsty squirrel, and it gulped down the entire bottle of water.
‘Needless to say, we didn’t drink from the same bottle,’ Paul joked.
The Grand Canyon National Park Service advises that visitors stay a safe distance from wildlife – in the case of squirrels, about 50ft (15m) away.
And there is always the danger that if you get too close, you may get scratched or bitten.
