Thomas Cook was the oldest holidaymaker company in the world and in the UK.
The company announced its bankruptcy on 23rd of September as it failed to repay the creditors a massive amount till the deadline that was set at 11:59 p.m. of 22nd September.
Thousands and thousands of passengers were left stranded as the flights of the company were ceased.
The passengers who had booked their flights with the company were asked to stay home as all the flights and tour packages have been canceled now.
The passengers are not the only one to suffer but the staff of the company is the one to suffer the most.
More than 21,000 employees working with the company around the globe are going to lose their job with 9,000 of them working in the UK.
As per a report, the employees will also not get their salary for the month of September.
A massive number of employees were seen at the company headquarters as they were called in for a 10:00 a.m. meeting. Many of them broke down in a pool of tears as it was their last day at the job.
While most of them were working for the last day, few will still work for a little longer to help the passengers with their canceled bookings with the company.
Passengers boarding their last flight said that they felt bad about the employees of the company. One said that she saw the employees breaking down in tears as the company announced its shut down.
The passengers on the last flight of the company cheered for Thomas Cook and gave it thumbs up in a video that an employee posted on social media.
Another employee commented on the post “This was the best place I could have ever worked in. Spent the best 3 years of my life at this amazing company, met lovely people and had three great holidays too.”
