Thomas Markle Sr dislikes Prince Harry so much that he wouldn’t even trust him to protect the chickens in his backyard, his son has said.
Thomas Markle Jr, 55, started his TV appearance on Big Brother VIP in Australia and said that his father doesn’t approve of the Duke of Sussex.
During an interview with the Australian show, Thomas speaks about his big altercation with half-sister Meghan, who he hasn’t seen in a decade.
Thomas Jr says that the dispute began when he wrote to Buckingham palace asking for help to stop the paparazzi from invading his privacy.
“The correspondence I got back was [that I was] distant family and I don’t know those people,” Thomas Jr said. “That came from Meghan.”
He also told Fitzy and Wippa in the interview how much father dislikes Prince Harry.
“My father says he couldn’t even protect those chickens in the backyard if he needed to,” Thomas Jr revealed.
The 55-year-old was recently slammed in the Big Brother house when he said that he doesn’t 100% believe that his estranged sister was struggling with her mental health when she quit as a senior royal.
Co-stars in the Big Brother house watching in the other room gasped and shook their heads in disappointment with Thomas Jr’s statement on Meghan’s mental health.
“I don’t agree with some of the things on the Oprah interview as far as having no services available,” Thomas Jr said. “I can’t imagine being that sheltered.”
When Fitzy suggested that Meghan ‘probably needs you more than ever for support’, Thomas said that he’ll answer the phone if she calls.
“Yeah well that’d be great,” Thomas Jr responded. “I’ll answer the phone, just give a phone call.”
“Everybody’s always loved Meghan, everybody’s always supported her no matter what,” he said. “I have, I mean, I may say bad things about her, I may write horrible letters to people, but the end result is that I do love my sister.”
After the interview, Big Brother housemate Bernard Curry said that it was ‘brutal’, while Jessika Power said that she didn’t like it.
“Sorry, didn’t like that,” Jessika said. “Raise your hands to see if Tom goes the first eviction.”
The scathing interview aired after Thomas Jr shared a public apology for publicly lambasting Meghan in the press.
Thomas Jr, a window fitter from Oregon, admitted that he had ‘made some horrible mistakes’ after being exposed into the public eye after his estranged sister started dating Prince Harry.
In a separate interview with New Idea, Thomas Jr said that he hopes Meghan is watching him on TV.
“That’s why I’m doing this, so she can see the real me,” he said at the time. “I want everybody watching to take away this side of me, the real me. I am lovable, nice, I’ll give you the shirt off my back, I’m funny.”
Thomas Jr insisted that growing up with the now Duchess of Sussex had been a great experience and that they were very close and would spend ‘lots of quality time together, Metro reports.
Thomas Jr also said that he would do anything to meet his nephew Archie, 2, and four-month-old niece Lilibet.
