Thomas Markle has shared a piece of advice for his son-in-law as he called Prince Harry’s comments contradicting and stupid.
In a bombshell interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes, the estranged father of Meghan Markle broke his silence to slam Oprah Winfrey and the young Royal couple.
After accusing Oprah of using Harry and Meghan for her own advancement, the 76-year-old also took a jab at his daughter and suggested she’s been treating him worse than an ax murder ever since he staged a photoshoot with the paparazzi ahead of her wedding.
Among other explosive allegations, Thomas insisted that Prince Harry “contradicts himself so much” and called his comments stupid.
“He said my daughter was thinking of suicide and he went to the royals and they didn’t help him,” Thomas said after admitting he feels sorry for Harry and his battle with mental health issues.
“Well, you don’t go to the royals. You pick up the phone and call a doctor. It’s like saying I wanted to leave the house but nobody opened the door for me. It’s stupid.”
In his new Apple TV series revolving around mental health, Prince Harry insisted that he and Meghan were “met with total silence, total neglect” as they were struggling with mental health during their life in Palace.
As Thomas insisted, however, his daughter could have always called him if she needed someone to talk to. He also said leaving the UK and quitting on their lives as Royals was the couple’s “biggest mistake.”
Before signing off, Thomas went on to share a piece of advice for his son-in-law despite never seeing him in person before.
“Think about the royals. Stop giving away all of the secrets about the royals and love your children and your wife but also love your grandmother and your father,” the 76-year-old said.
