Lori and Chris Coble endured unimaginable tragedy when they lost their three children.
It was just like any other day, Lori behind the wheel and the kids in the backseat of their van, when disaster struck.
In May 2007, Lori was driving home with her three young children, Katie-2, Kyle-5, and Emma-4, when a 20-ton truck struck the family van. Though Lori survived, she was unable to remember the crash. Husband Chris had to deliver the news that their 3 children had died.
The family pressed charges against the driver, Jorge Miguel Romero, who slammed into the Coble van at 70 mph. Romero was charged with vehicular manslaughter.
The Cobles pressed further, seeking to change the truck-driving industry where drivers are paid based on distance traveled.
The Cobles believe drivers are overworked and tired, which leads to speeding and creates danger on the road.
Changing policies could prevent accidents like theirs from happening to other families.[rsnippet id=”4″ name=”DFP/34009881/Article_1″][rsnippet name=”universal-likebox” multi-site=”true”]
In an unlikely end to their story, only 6 months after the accident, Lori became pregnant with triplets, Ellie, Jake, and Ashley.
Though the couple had to bear the painful experience of losing their first three children, they feel blessed to have three more who fill their home with love.
Lori and Chris have been able to move past the car accident with their miracle triplets and the faith that Kyle, Emma, and Katie are watching over the family.
