A baby, who was left unattended in China, got more than 100 wounds on her face after she was brutally gnawed by mice.
She was alone at home when the incident took place.
Even the doctors were astonished to see the little baby’s nose bitten off.
The incident took place in the Yunnan Province of Southern China earlier this month. Rodents, in large numbers, attacked the girl when she was alone at home, according to the local reports.
The local media outlets reached out to the unfortunate child’s parents to get the details of the event.
They said that they probably forgot to clean the food from their daughter’s face after they fed her and this acted as the precursor to the tragic event.
According to the parents, they left the girl unattended for no more than 15 minutes and when they returned to their flat in the Chuxiong prefecture, they found her disfigured by the rodents.
Kunming Radio and TV station reported that the girl was immediately shifted to the nearest ER and then referred to a better and larger hospital in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan.
After the doctors at the Chuxiong hospital declared that they were not properly equipped to treat the baby, the family traveled eight hours to reach Kunming where they could get proper medical attention for the girl.
Dr. Lou Fan, who treated the baby in Kunming Children’s hospital, told Kunming Radio and TV station: “There were more than 100 biting wounds from the animals [on her face].
“There were simply too many. We could only estimate. Her condition was very serious.”
Another doctor from the same hospital, Dr. Zhang Henglong, said: “The right side of the nose tip had been completely bitten off and you could see the bone.”
Doctors stitched the girl’s wounds and arranged anti-rabies shots for her.
They told the parents that it would take quite some time for her injuries to heal fully, adding that plastic surgery might be needed to restore her facial features.
