Over one hundred graves in France were vandalized by sick thugs who sprayed swastikas and other anti-Semitic graffiti over the headstones.
The incident occurred at a Jewish cemetery in Westhoffen which is located just some 15 miles from Strasbourg.
According to the reports, a similar case of destruction occurred in another village just hours before the culprits desecrated 107 graves belonging to Jews.
As Maurice Dahan, the president of the local Jewish council, said, everyone was shocked by vandalism whereas the majority of graves got smeared with swastikas.
Just hours before the incident, anti-Semitic inscriptions were discovered across the walls and doors of homes in a nearby village.
While the recent case of racist vandalism is nothing short of disturbing, this isn’t the first time French graves had been desecrated.
Just in February 2019, 96 tombs at a Quatzenheim cemetery suffered similar vandalism which resulted in a nationwide call for crackdown on vandals.
According to the reports, anti-Semitic offenses have risen up by as much as 74 percent in the year 2018 compared to 2017.
Following the incident going viral, people were quick to slam the culprits for their hate crimes.
“Find them and lock ‘em up for good theres no place for this kind of behavior in the modern world,” someone wrote.
“I don’t understand how ANYONE could be so vile and heartless to go and vandalize the graves of dead people,” another one added.
One person also had a suggestion for the government and said: “It’s vital we address this issue at its roots and make sure it doesn’t happen in the future by promoting inclusiveness and educating youths against racism.”
