In Dubai, a tiger was used in an extravagant gender reveal party and social media users are furious.
Dubai was seen as a city overflowing with wealth, it is a place where anything is possible, even tiger-themed gender reveal parties.
Just recently, an Instagram footage has gone viral after it shows a tiger popping a gender-reveal balloon.
The tiger can be seen on a beach next to the Burj Al Arab hotel. The scene had white and black balloons that were all filled with colored mist that will later reveal the baby’s gender.
The big cat seems to be calm and collected in the video, then it leaps up in the air and pops one of the balloons with its sharp claws.
The pink mist bursts out of the balloon, indicating that the baby is going to be a girl.
“Gender reveal gone #wild congrats mama,” the original video’s caption read. “Disclaimer – tiger was not harmed and plastic was disposed of, relax everyone.”
The clip was then reposted on Instagram by Lovin Dubai. This is where the negative comments began flooding in.
“This is beyond problematic…on so many levels,” one user wrote.
“Not cool at all,” a second user added.
“Ridiculous, wild animals shouldn’t be pets,” a third person commented.
“Lol no wildlife activist seeing this?” another commenter has added.
“A tiger’s place is in wilderness not as pet in Dubai or anywhere else,” a fifth one concluded.
