Thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, lockdowns are in place and if you’re not in an essential occupation that requires you to go out, then you’re supposed to stay put at home.
There are those, however, who are lucky enough to have the option of working from home and that has become a thing nowadays.
But even before the lockdown, working from home carries its own challenges. Forget about being too lazy to get out of bed, you need to consider those who are at home with you. It’s good if you’re just typing or writing code. But if you happen to be in a video conference, it can make for some very embarrassing encounters.
One TikTok challenge seems to make those embarrassing encounters a reality and with more people stuck with nothing to do except twiddle their thumbs, this has become a mighty tempting prank to pull.
The viral trend began with one woman filming her boyfriend’s reaction as she tried to distract him while he was playing a video game. But it soon morphed into something that they could do to their partners who were attempting to work. For example, stripping!!
Of course, you could say it beats going outside and putting yourself (and everyone else) at risk. But still.
Fortunately, there are a few less annoying ways to pass the time such as putting together a massive jigsaw puzzle, say, 2,000 pieces? The puzzle is called “Pure Hell” and if you don’t like the attention to detail, then that name is quite apt.
If jigsaw puzzles are too involved for your taste, try some online Cards Against Humanity.
It’s available at playingcards.io where you can set up a room and “battling” it out with your friends from the relative safety and comfort of your couch. You may get offended, but at least you won’t get infected.
Instead of complaining about being stuck at home, just think of all those people who want nothing more than to stay at home but have no choice. And this is one of the few times where you can help save the world by sitting at home doing nothing, so don’t mess it up!
