Technology has become an inseparable part of our lives.
It is like our five senses, without which, we cannot perform anything.
However, the debate on technology and its impact would never end because some people feel that the intrusion of technology has made us dependent on it for almost everything.
And they are technically right. But technology has made our lives easier, safer, and more interesting. Social media is the gift of technology, which has become an imperative part of most of the people.
While people may criticize social media, recently, it helped save the lives of three women in the most unexpected way.
Lonia Haeger is a professional kitesurfer who was traveling through Norway with her two friends. Their road-journey was interrupted by freezing rain as it became extremely difficult to drive on the road.
So, the group decided to stop their motor vehicle on a curve in the road, next to an edge that led to the ocean and big rocks.
The three friends were terrified that their vehicle would slide off the mountain or that some other car would come near the curve and bang them.
However, they could not do anything except for sitting and waiting because their family, friends, and mechanics were more than 200 km away.
That is when they decided to set up Lonia’s Tinder profile with the hope to find help through her match. Within five minutes, Lonia had a match.
Her match was Stian Lauluten who is a construction worker and had access to the bulldozer.
When Lonia explained her situation, this heroic man came within a few minuted to help the friends. With the help of the bulldozer, they were able to bring their van out of the danger zone. They were even escorted to a safe parking slot.
