A Koala baby has recovered beautifully since when it was found while the baby was on the edge of death.
The tiny koala who has been named Keli weighed only 275g and was found in New South Wales on the 8th of September in absolutely horrible conditions. He had a serious infection that had caused the loss of his fur in the bush fire.
The poor baby was found on the ground in a terrible condition and was rushed to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital instantly.
He had no fur when he came to the hospital but now the hospital has released new pictures of the baby and he has recovered so beautifully. He is still tiny and looks fragile but has regained his hair and looks absolutely adorable.
On their Facebook page, Port Macquarie Koala Hospital shared a few pictures of Keli with a caption saying “With all the tragedy going around us, we just wanted to share a bright moment to bring a smile on your face and hope in your heart.”
“Keli weighs a whopping 1 kg now and is doing so much better. His infection is gone and his fur is re-growing. The recovery is going fine and we will get even more excited when he turns 2.5 kg.”
He is recovering well and is ready for the dehumanizing phase but the hospital is not ready to release him yet. They are going to keep him till the winter months are here.
The fire department and the rescue team say there is no protocol for the rescue team. Even wildlife careers have no protocol to act. They rescue team brings the animals to a safe place and then they have no protocol on working on it.
