A 22 months old toddler who won people’s heart with his adorable smile while modelling for Primark, is now starring in Amazon’s charity campaign.
Rio Williams, from Bristol, had to be put in the hospital for over a month because he was born with the condition, as well as breathing problems and a perforated bowel.
He underwent bowel surgery but it didn’t stop him and he was a part of a Primark campaign in March where he displayed baby wear for Primark, showcasing their baby grows, hats and soft toys. Now the little boy is going to be a part of Amazon’s Smile campaign which allows you to donate to your preferred charity.
The campaign allows people to donate 0.5 per cent of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of their gifts to a chosen charity.
His mother Kimberley Williams shared the adorable pictures of Rio on n her Instagram account Life with Rio. She also signed him up to a modelling agency called Zebedee Management.
Rio’s parents will donate to Bristol Children’s Hospital charity The Grand Appeal, the same hospital which took care of him when he was unwell.
His father Anthony told the Metro: ‘’All of this is such a breath of fresh air because we honestly thought the worst when we were first told. And we are opening the door to many others like him to show yes you can make a difference!’’
Rio’s mother says she wants her son to be accepted the way he is, ‘‘We are all so proud of Rio, it’s wonderful to see children with disabilities being represented in mainstream advertising.’’
‘‘Hopefully, Rio is helping to show other children that regardless of ability, all children are beautiful and can achieve amazing things.’’
