18-month-old Joseph Tidd from Florida warmed hearts everywhere after he ‘fist-bumped’ with a football star who has the same condition as him.
The toddler was born without his left hand but he was all smiles when he met Carson Pickett, who plays for Brisbane Roar.
The two have quickly become internet sensations after an inspiring photo of them went viral.
Little Joseph smiled brightly at his great role model who was also born without a left hand. Their uplifting photo shows them beaming with excitement as they ‘fist bumped.’
The photo was first shared on Instagram by the boy’s parents. Pickett’s mentor Becky Burleigh then reshared the picture on Twitter.
“We need more of this in our world. RT to spread joy,” Burleigh wrote.
Thousands of social media users have commented on how inspiring and beautiful the moment was, with some describing it as the ‘photo of the century.’
“My heart is gonna explode,” one person tweeted. “I don’t know what’s cuter! Her genuine happiness or the kiddo’s happiness,” another wrote.
“The sheer joy in this wonderful picture takes my breath away. truly inspiring,” a third said. “There are no words. All the carry on in this world and then you see this dead set gorgeous photo. Such joy! That has lifted my day,” someone else tweeted.
Joseph’s father, Miles, told Fox News: “Carson knelt down next to Joseph and showed him her arm.
“It was this instant bond we can’t begin to understand. Carson believes she can do anything, and that is the mindset we want Joseph to have as well.”
