A young boy in soiled diaper was found wandering around a neighborhood in Florida, and he has still not been claimed by a guardian or his parents, authorities said.
Police officers from the Miramar Police Department said the toddler was found near the 1860 block of SW 68th Avenue on Sunday.
Authorities are now working to find the boy’s parents and said officers have been going door-to-door hoping to find someone who may recognize the child or his parents.
A woman who found the boy without shoes on said she asked her neighbors if they know who the child belonged to, WPLG reported.
“We walked around and looked to see if anyone was nearby. None of us have ever seen the baby before,” Lori Rodriguez told the station.
Rodriguez said she changed the boy’s diaper and contacted local police.
“His family has NOT been located. Officers spent hours canvassing the area, knocking on doors, speaking w/ neighbors,” police said in an update.
“No one recognizes the child.”
The adorable boy is now in the custody of Child Protective Services as officers continue their search and investigation.
One internet user commented: “If something has befallen his parent I hope a granny or babysitter recognizes him. It might save a parents life if the Police or CPS can find an address.”
Another wrote: “Maybe something happened to the child’s parents? Murder or overdose? Poor baby.”
A third added: “That’s so sad that he has not been re-United what a cute little boy. I hope everything turns out ok.”
