We remember very little of our time as a toddler and perhaps that’s a good thing.
If we were as aware as a toddler as we are now, it’ll probably be a very frustrating experience.
Everything seems so big and out of reach. It’ll probably be like living the land of giants except that the inconvenience would be no fun at all. And of course, there’s the inability to control one’s body functions.

Either way, both physically and mentally, a toddler faces many obstacles without adult help, such as getting through a door. But for one adorable little girl, she was smart enough to discover that she actually fits in the dog flap and she’s been a believer ever since.
It happened while Lisa Mathisen was playing with her niece, 15-month-old Adi Rose, in their backyard in Lynbrook, New York. Little Adi began running and then noticed the dog flap and got on her hands and knees to go through it.
Then she ran around through the adjacent sliding doors to get back outside and repeat the whole process with the dog flap. She was having so much fun that she was giggling and laughing the whole time. That’s certainly understandable in the eyes of a toddler who can’t do as they please quite yet.
Lisa said: ” My niece has discovered her love for doggy doors.
“I couldn’t stop laughing – her happiness is infectious.
“Ever since she discovered the doggy door she can’t stop!”
Dog doors are certainly very convenient for our furry friends as it allows them to go in and out of the house whenever necessary. It’s especially important in cases when no one else is in the house but the dog needs to exit in an emergency (such as a fire).
However, there are also certain cons to having dog doors. If there are wild animals in your neighborhood such as coyotes, then a dog door may not be such a good thing to have. If your dog is also an alpha dog, it may not be good to have a dog door as it would only reinforce their behavior that they can come and go as they please.
But aside from those, as in the case of Adi, toddlers can inadvertently fit through these dog doors and easily slip out of the house if the parents don’t keep a close watch. With these considerations in mind, it’s important to weigh whether or not to install a dog door in the house.
