The world is under a threat right now.
With coronavirus spreading like an epidemic, people around the world are locked inside their houses.
The only way to defeat the virus is by staying away from each other no matter what.
Most of the public gatherings around the world have been canceled.
Mecca, Vatican city, and so many other religious places that have never been empty ever since they were built are isolated and locked right now.
The world is together in this and we are fighting.
Following the same, the summer Olympics of 2020 will be postponed too.
Dick Pound, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said “the decision to postpone the Olympics of 2020 has been taken.
He said that the parameters decided on moving forward are not fixed yet.
But he says that the Olympics of 2020 are not starting on July 24th for sure.
The IOC has decided to take a deadline of 4 weeks to decide upon the plan of moving forward.
Pound on the same said that he expects an official announcement about the next step soon.
Australia and Canada had already announced that they will be withdrawing from the games due to the epidemic.
Hugh Robertson, Chairman of the British Olympic Association said that he expects Britain to join in soon.
He said “We have tried to work on it but we cannot find a way how this can move forward.
We are going to join in with Australia and Canada and will be withdrawing from the games this year.
The games were scheduled to take place in Japan’s capital Tokyo. The schedule starts on 24th July and continues till the 9th of August, marking it as the last day.
He said that there are no ways that all the sports players around the world or in the country can be prepared for the games till that date.
All the sports practices around the country have been put on hold.
