Coronavirus Pandemic has hit the entire world with no country left out of its influence.
Most of the countries are presently under lockdown, people are no longer allowed to get out of their homes.
The economy of the world is falling every single day. And we as humans have started losing our sanity locked inside our homes.
At such a time, all the public gatherings throughout the world have been canceled. All the major religious and holy places have also been shut down.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics were scheduled to take place soon but due to the outbreak, the same has been detained. Several countries have questioned and raised their concerns with the game.
A few countries including Canada had also withdrawn from the games keeping the pandemic in mind.
On the matter, the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) decided to take steps and rescheduled the 2020 Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympics have now been postponed by a year. The new scheduled date of the beginning of the games is set to be the 23rd of July 2021 and will end on the 8th of August 2021.
IOC President Thomas Bach said that humankind is inside a dark tunnel right now and Tokyo Olympics can be a light at the end of the tunnel.
The Japanese organizers of the Games and IOC have come together and decided on the new dates.
As per the IOC, the new dates will give everyone including authorities of all the countries and health care workers enough time to fight the diseases out of our world.
They also said that the date has been a year away to make sure there are no delays in the new schedule and the world has enough time to clear out the disruption this deadly virus has caused.
In the meantime, the Olympic flame that was already in Japan will remain in Japan for the new schedule of the Olympics.
