He shared how his life changed after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Hanks said that he had been the celebrity canary in the coal mine for the COVID-19.
And, ever since he has been diagnosed, he felt like America’s dad since nobody wants to be around him anymore, and he makes people uncomfortable.
Tom Hanks contracted coronavirus while shooting for his next project with Luhrman about Elvis Presley in Australia. He and his wife Rita Wilson both contracted the disease and were in isolation, and he documented his entire recovery process on Instagram.
In his posts, Hanks was seen multiple times urging people to do their part in stopping the spread of this virus.
On the show, Hanks shared how he and his wife are doing. He said that they both are doing fine and are hunkered down just like all of us should be right now.
The suit he was wearing for the show has been the first thing he has worn anything other than sweatpants since March. He jokingly said that his wife had to help him put the suit on because he has forgotten how the buttons work.
In his appearance on the show, Hank managed to strike a good balance between making jokes and addressing the seriousness of the situation.
