Even though they have been busy promoting their new movie ‘Far From Home,’ the two actors took out their time to make the day for the sick children at the hospital.

Tom and Jake are heroes off-screen as well, aren’t they?

Three-year-old Artie Vickerage was one of the kids who get the chance to meet the stars. He got admitted to the London hospital three weeks ago after being diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma.

Speaking to LADbible, Artie’s mother Gemma said: “I had been here with Artie for three weeks, and on Friday, I decided to venture out of the hospital for a short break, leaving my husband looking after Artie.

“Whilst I was out, my husband sent me a photo by text, and I had just missed the visitors of a lifetime, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Holland.”

She quipped: “I pop out for one hour in three weeks and miss it! Just my luck!”

Gemma said the Marvel stars brighten little Artie’s day. However, her husband Paul got even more excited to meet the two actors.

She said: “Artie is only three years old, so although a big Spider-Man fan, he didn’t really understand how big these special visitors were, but Paul went all Marvel-geek. I think it cheered up his day a little, and after a tough few weeks, it was really appreciated.

“Artie enjoyed looking at the lights on Mysterios outfit and feeling the webs on Spider-Man’s hands. It will be nice to keep this photo for when Artie is feeling better to show him.”

The mother thanked the stars, as well as other visitors, who visited the high-risk cancer ward to meet the brave little boy battling his illness.

“I don’t think they really realize quite how much an impact it has on the children here,” Gemma said.

“Artie had been particularly poorly on the day of this visit, but previous visits by volunteer magicians, Spider-Man and the storm troopers had turned a very sad day into a smile.”

The mom also urged everyone to donate blood and register themselves with the Anthony Nolan Trust to help little kids fight cancer.

Calling the hospital and its staff the real heroes, Gemma said: “I urge anyone looking to fund raise this year to consider raising for Great Ormond Street.”
