Many parents probably have gone through stress trying to find out the hottest Christmas toy gifts to give their kids. Unfortunately, many of them have walked in stores and got out empty handed.
But for a young lady named Cassie Gretschel, her mentally challenged, and physically disabled brother has fallen in love with a toy truck that is no longer being produced. It was last produced about a decade ago, and to find it these days is next to an impossibility.
“The Blue Police Hummer truck, made in 2000, is what he wants as a Christmas gift,” she wrote online.
For 17-years in succession, her family has gifted Max with the very truck. But this year, things have changed and getting the truck is not as easy as it was in the previous years that she could find and she has reached out for help.
She asked the Reddit users to help her get the toy truck wherever it could be found. She offered t get the truck from people for a fee. However, she found generous people from different parts of the world to give it to her free of charge.

Cassie turned to the most popular sites, Reddit and Imgur, to find out if anyone still has his brother’s favorite toy.
“My brother Max is 25-years of age, but mentally he is about 5-years of age,” she explained. “He is challenged both physically and mentally, and the only thing that can make him happy this Christmas is a Blue Police Hammer truck which was made in the year 2000.”
Since the truck is no longer being produced, the Cassie has been left with limited resources where she could get them. Form the past 17 years, and her family has bought every single piece that was on eBay.
She turned to Reddit to see if anyone in the form had the truck so that she could buy.
One user offered to help her order it after sending a link.
This user went ahead to purchase the truck for Max on eBay and promised to ship it so that Max can do it in time for Christmas.
After Cassie wrote specifying that the truck needed should have a metal hook, another user volunteered to cast the rubber hooks just to get Max pleased.
Many people offered to assist Cassie, and they used Twitter to contact the company, Tonka, which manufactures trucks.
No response yet from the company, though people from different parts of the world have come out to help her.
This one stranger has sacrificed all just to help Cassie and her family.
Apart from just getting to the companies, they also offered to settle the bill for all expenses just to get trucks to Max.
One user coincidentally found the truck in the house and offered it for free despite the fact that Cassie promised to pay for it.
Cassie posted this photo which shows the truck that Max has found, and she is still hoping to get more of them for other coming Christmases.
“He spends many hours daily playing with them, so many of them are broken down already and have been used as spare parts for repair,” she wrote
We give thanks to the generosity of other people and the internet which has made the world to be a global village. Max would enjoy his Christmas normally and happily!
