Ready Player One may have been a movie and its portrayal of virtual reality technology are still solidly in the realm of science fiction but the fact of the matter is, virtual reality is slowly becoming more mainstream, thanks primarily to the pioneering efforts of firms like Oculus and HTC.

While still far from the fidelity seen in Ready Player One, today’s virtual reality devices still offer a greater immersion into the game world than your typical PC or console game. It’s not just the video portion that gives VR its immersive experience but the audio input as well. In fact, audio may play an even more important factor to help the person react appropriately to the visual cues being presented on the screen.

For some reason, horror VR games have become quite popular, probably because it brings the “excitement” to your face like it never has before. While it can be fun to play for fans of the genre, it can be quite traumatic for those who are trying VR for the first time as can be seen in the following video.
Frank Bakes owns a VR gig and was excited to have his friend, Craig, experience it. Of course, the game he decided to showcase was ‘Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood.’
Craig visited Frank’s apartment in Cincinnati, Ohio, and that’s where the fun (at least, for Frank and his other friends) began.
VR games are also projected onto a screen so that other people can see what the person in the VR rig is looking at. Craig can be seen hilariously jumping up at every scary seen and even at one point dislodging the headset with his sudden jerks.
Of course, Craig’s friends didn’t make things better by adding some “reality” to the experience by pinching or tapping Craig during the particularly scary moments.
Frank said: “We are all best friends and we always crack up like this when we hang out.
“Craig is the most jump-scare prone person I’ve ever met, it’s a bodily reaction he can’t help even if he knows it’s coming.
“It’s like a perfect scream straight out of a horror movie you can get any time.”
