If you love wine then this new tourist destination might be the right one for you!
Wine enthusiasts can enjoy their booze while staying in a wine barrel hotel room that offers a breathtaking view.
Located in the village of Sasbachwalden in Germany, the wine barrels were once used for storing wine in the local vineyard.
‘Sleeping in the Wine Barrel’ or Sclafen im Weinfass offers six rooms. Each room has two barrels for families or couples to share – one with a bed and the other one with a living area and eco-toilet.
The barrels can be stayed in even during winter months, thanks to its heating system. For summer months, guests can relax outside while watching the magnificent view.
Each barrel offers a view of the vineyard as it has glass-fronted windows and doors. In addition, guests can try the local produce from the winery!
All guests are given a welcome bottle, along with snacks and loaves of bread.
Breakfast also arrives in the morning with cheeses, meats, and pastries delivered by the family running the hotel.
Rooms start from $164 per night for two people, including wine and breakfast.
This is not the only place where tourists can stay in a wine barrel. A place in Portugal also offers the same experience.
Guests can stay in a spacious barrel in Douro, with owners offering full-day tours and wine tastings.
