New Zealand is a favorite spot among tourists worldwide as Peter Jackson’s interpretation of ‘Lord Of The Rings’ was filmed there. The beautiful island comprises of pristine landscapes and fascinating hills – and you would totally agree to that if you have watched the movie.
But there’s another thing which makes New Zealand an attractive place – the innumerable sheep present on the island, outnumbering its inhabitants by six to one.
If you’re not convinced, you will be, after you see this amazing video featuring a huge flock of sheep taking over a New Zealand road while making way through the hills.
More or less like a stampede, this ‘sheeppede’ was something on a totally different level.
Almost all the traffic at and near Waioeka Gorge in Gisborne Region of the island country was brought to a halt after drivers spotted the sea of sheep on the hillside.
Within just minutes, the flock comprising of thousands of sheep descended from the mountain onto the roadway in all its glory.
They were everywhere – the mountain, the hillside, the road, everywhere one’s sight could reach!
Thankfully, this one-in-a-million moment was recorded by a lucky traveler, who had their ‘camera at the ready’ to seize the beautiful sight.
“While driving through the Waioeka Gorge in the Gisborne Region of New Zealand the traffic stopped to let this huge flock of sheep take over the road,” the traveler said.
“I always have my camera at the ready and seized the moment!”
The sheep might have delayed a lot of motorists by obstructing traffic but I doubt if anyone regretted it. After all, you don’t see thousands of these adorable creatures running around you every other day.
What makes this beautiful sight even more mesmerizing was how such a huge number of sheep were moving in one synchronous motion. Now that’s something you don’t get to see quite often.
