A couple who made headlines when they became Britain’s first transgender parents are now planning to have a second child.
41-year-old Jake Graf and 32-year-old Hannah from South London announced in December 2019 that they were expecting their first child via surrogate after Jake decided to stop testosterone to have his eggs harvested and frozen.
Laura, the surrogate mother, gave birth to their healthy daughter Millie in April, and said that she would be happy to carry another child for the couple.
“We would like some more,” Hannah expressed.
“And we are very, very fortunate our surrogate Laura has offered to give it another go, so hopefully in the not too distant future we may have a little sibling for Millie.”
Jake also said: “Honestly, I would have another three or four, Hannah keeps trying to manage my expectations. But look at this one!
“How could you not want ten?”
The pair thanked their family, friends, and also the community for the love and support they have received.
“We’ve been very lucky in that we have had support from family and friends from the beginning. We have a wonderful support from the community,” Jake said.
“When we were lucky enough to meet out angel Laura, our surrogate, she got pregnant first time. We are so lucky and we never ever take that for granted.”
Hannah also said that Laura will always remain a part of their lives, describing her as an ‘inspiring woman.’
“She is such an amazing woman. We have nothing but awe and love for her,” she expressed. “She is one of the most inspiring women I’ve ever met.”
“She’s wanted to do this for years, but she agreed to go on this journey with us. We made sure we had the same outlook and wanted the same thing. She’s very much going to stay in Millie’s life as a family friend.”
