A trans father is sharing his heartbreaking sentiments about his miracle delivery and how he became the target of abuse from plenty of online trolls.
23-year-old Dimitri Darden was originally born female and used to be identified with the name Tori. However, the 23-year-old opted to take a break from his transition into a male, just so he could become pregnant by a sperm donor. In case you’re wondering why he went through the trouble in the first place, well, it has to do with the fact that his partner could not conceive.
Therefore, Dimitri felt the urge to step up to the plate and help his fiance named Candyce Creekmore out. The pair received their beautiful bundle of joy, or miracle daughter named Serina. However, little did the couple know about the abuse that lay ahead of them.
Sharing their story with others, the pair couldn’t believe the hatred and jealously present in so many people’s hearts for their little child. Demitri says that his daughter soon became the center of so many callous taunts by complete strangers who didn’t even know the couple personally.
Some online abusers went as far as calling the couple out for their decision of having a child, while others attacked the six-week-old baby, condemning it to hell too.
32-year-old Candyce who hails from Oklahoma claims that having a child was all of Dimitri’s idea. She wasn’t too aware of how possible it would be for him to carry the child but she is ever so grateful to him because now the pair has a beautiful daughter to cherish.
But that doesn’t mean the parents don’t get affected by what others say. “People say that the baby will land in hellfire, that’s just so hurtful to hear as parents,” she added. “I really wish I could open up people’s minds more and encourage them to actually do something similar to what we did.”
Candyce also revealed how she has two other kids from her previous marriage but she just couldn’t conceive this time due to several complications relating to her pregnancy.
As far as Dimitri is concerned, he is now continuing with his testosterone shots to complete his transformation.
