According to Variety, the rapper is “too distraught to play” following the deadly incident during which he failed to stop the show after several people got knocked over and after attendees started screaming for help and chanting ‘stop the show’.

As the fire department confirmed, the concert only came to an end some thirty minutes after the first casualties were noted.

While lawsuits and claims against the rapper and the organizers of the event are on the rise, Fire Chief Samuel Peña suggested that Travis could easily bring the show to a halt should he desire to.

“The one person who can really call for and get a tactical pause when something goes wrong is that performer. They have that bully pulpit and they have a responsibility,” he told The New York Times.

“If somebody would have said, ‘Hey, shut this thing down and turn on the lights until this thing gets corrected’ — and that coming from the person with the mic — I think could have been very helpful.”
