The recording was posted online by Joe McFarlane and features two treasure hunters, a father and a son, who were lucky enough to discover a safe box full of goodies inside the mansion they were charged with demolishing.
After removing the safe from the mansion, they started cutting into it since the key to it was nowhere to be found.
After breaking through the back of the safe, the treasure hunter duo was thrilled to come across a series of items including an old, Asian-looking ceremonial dagger, a small box of ammunition, a decorative box, and an envelope with ‘emergency money’ written on it.
Inside the envelope, they found a bunch of $100 bills totaling to $2,200. As for the ornamental box that appears to be a family heirloom, it contained an old pocket watch, a gold chain, and a bizarre old skeleton key.
After the video went viral, people couldn’t help but share their excitement over the finding.
“What a great find! I wonder who these items belonged to and why they were left behind. I’m sure these pieces have a long history…” one person wrote.
“Pretty amazing. I hope they had permission to go into the mansion and take what they found. That place is pretty pristine so I find it hard to believe that somebody just left it for anyone to go into,” someone suggested.
