President Donald Trump and wife Melania have offered their gratitude to fellow Americans and wished them a Merry Christmas in their festive season-themed video message.
In their holiday video, Donald and Melania appeared in high spirits whereas the FLOTUS was cladded in red as she started the pair’s message by saying:
“The president and I want to wish each and every American a very Merry Christmas.”
The video, which was posted on Christmas Day, appeared to have been recorded at the White House in advance before the couple took off to Mar-a-Lago in Florida to celebrate the festive season away from the impeachment drama.
Besides discussing the Christmas decorations that have complemented the White House and talking about the events the first couple has attended, Trump has also touched the religious side of Christmas.
“At this sacred time of year Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and rejoice in his love for every person,” he said.
“We give thanks to the millions of Americans who come together to care for others with compassion and bring the warmth and bliss of this holiday season to our family, our friends, our neighbors and to those in need.”
Joining Trump in thanking Americans was also Melania who addressed “men and women in uniform” and thanked them for keeping everyone safe.
“As we gather with loved ones this holiday, Americans across this land are grateful for all the men and women in uniform who keep us safe: our military, our police and everyone in law enforcement,” she said.
Concluding the first couple’s Christmas message to Americans, Trump added:
“We say a special prayer those for military service members stationed far from home and we renew our hope for peace among nations and joy to the world.
“On behalf of the entire Trump family we wish everyone a very joyous and Merry Christmas and a very happy happy New Year.”
