Trump has been indefinitely banned from YouTube following a review that took place weeks after the Capitol riot and the former’s president ban from major social media networks.
Two weeks ago, YouTube took action against Trump as they slapped his channel with a temporary ban that prevented him from sharing content with his three million YouTube followers.
Now, the former president has been suspended from the platform indefinitely following an internal review of his channel.
“In light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, the Donald J Trump channel will remain suspended. Our teams are staying vigilant and closely monitoring for any new developments,” the company confirmed.
Meanwhile, YouTube also took aim at Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani by kicking him off the platform’s Partner Program and therefore preventing him from making money off his videos.
According to the tech giant’s explanation, the decision follows after the attorney repeatedly violated their policy against sharing misinformation about the election.
Among other controversial videos Giuliani shared on his YouTube channel, one was titled ‘Election Theft of the Century’ whereas another was named ‘The Biden Crime Family’s Payoff Scheme.’
Earlier in January, Trump was temporarily blocked from adding new videos to his YouTube channel after he was also banned from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
While the platform didn’t reveal which of the President’s comments was in violation of their policies, they insisted that Trump broke the rules shortly after he uploaded a video in which he warned the Democrats to “be careful what you wish for.”
“The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration. As the expression goes: Be careful what you wish for,” Trump previously said in one of his videos.
“The impeachment hoax is a continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country, and it is causing tremendous anger and division and pain – far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time.”
Following a review of his channel, the 45th US president was punished with a temporary ban – a decision that was now made indefinite.
“After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies,” YouTube explained after imposing the temporary ban.
