A high school is a place where the kids are sent to study and to indulge in co-curricular as well as extracurricular activities.
They are sent to the place of knowledge to open up their minds and to acquire the most they can.
Of course, a high school student is not an eligible voter in the country and thus they should not get too involved with the matter of the nation’s politics at school.
Having an opinion is right in all the sense but expressing the opinion in a place where it becomes offending is not.
A group of high school cheerleaders has been put on probation as they flashed a banner of Trump 2020 in the middle of a high school Football game.
The images from the event went viral quickly and offended people who started commenting on how the girls should be punished for what they did in the middle of the game.
One man commented “What kind of a display is it. How did the school board even allow it to happen? This is so saddening and disappointing. It was a high school game, not a political rally.”
Que Tucker Commissioner of NCHSAA said, “the probation the cheerleaders have been put on is not an acting punishment but a display of consequences of performing certain actions that are not liable in certain circumstances.”
He added that the act of behavior was against the NCHSAA Handbook Policy.
He also said “One of the rules says that every sport is supposed to be played in a 100% sportsmanship environment and we are supposed to give sportsmen the environment.
The girls completely went over the line and disturbed what was supposed to be a good sports match. This is why it was important to teach them as well as all the other student to stay under the guiding rules.”
