Donald Trump has slammed President Biden and accused him of turning a “national triumph” into a “national disaster” after an influx of migrants at the border.
The former president’s fury follows shortly after the 46th US President blamed the former administration for what appears to be a migrant crisis at the southern border.
“We proudly handed the Biden Administration the most secure border in history,” Trump bragged in his statement as it came to light that Customs and Border Protection officials allegedly started letting migrants into the country without a court date.
“All they had to do was keep this smooth-running system on autopilot. Instead, in the span of a just few weeks, the Biden Administration has turned a national triumph into a national disaster. They are in way over their heads and taking on water fast.”
Trump’s response follows shortly after the Biden Administration blamed him for the current situation saying they are determined to establish a more “humane” approach to dealing with migrants who are in search of a better life.
On Sunday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas took aim at Trump Administration as he blamed the former president for the influx of migrants by saying the former administration dismantled the entire immigration system that was in place.
“It is taking time and it is difficult because the entire system was dismantled by the prior administration,” Mayorkas claimed during his appearance on CNN’s State of the Union. “There was a system in place that was torn down by the Trump administration.”
Meanwhile, President Biden, who made a series of promises to would-be migrants during his candidacy, vowed to visit the border “at some point” while talking to reporters.point 252 |
He also insisted that he knows what’s going on at the facilities at the border while saying that one of the things they’re doing to solve the current situation is trying to “re-establish what existed before – which is they [the migrants] can stay in place and make their case from their home countries.point 257 |
