Donald Trump and Joe Biden paid their respects to Prince Philip and voiced their support for the Royal Family.
The entire world is mourning the death of the Duke of Edinburgh who reportedly died peacefully at Windsor Castle at the age of 99.
Among other renowned figures who paid a tribute to the deceased Royal were also several US presidents including Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
In a lengthy statement, Trump called the Duke’s passing an “irreplaceable loss for Great Britain” as he said his patriotism is his greatest legacy.
“The world mourns the passing of Prince Philip, a man who embodied the noble soul and proud spirit of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth,” Trump, who never got the chance to meet Prince Philip in person, wrote.
“Melania and I send our deepest and most profound condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and to the entire Royal Family. We send our most heartfelt sympathies to the British people. This is an irreplaceable loss for Great Britain, and for all who hold dear our civilization.
“Prince Philip defined British dignity and grace. He personified the quiet reserve, stern fortitude and unbending integrity of the United Kingdom.”
Paying his respects to the Duke of Edinburgh was also President Biden who applauded the Prince for his dedication to the people of the UK and his long service.
“On behalf of all the people of the United States, we send our deepest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the entire Royal Family, and all the people of the United Kingdom on the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh,” Biden’s statement read.
“Over the course of his 99-year life, he saw our world change dramatically and repeatedly. From his service during World War II, to his 73 years alongside the Queen, and his entire life in the public eye – Prince Philip gladly dedicated himself to the people of the UK, the Commonwealth, and to his family.
“The impact of his decades of devoted public service is evident in the worthy causes he lifted up as patron, in the environmental efforts he championed, in the members of the Armed Forces that he supported, in the young people he inspired, and so much more. His legacy will live on not only through his family, but in all the charitable endeavors he shaped.
“Jill and I are keeping the Queen and Prince Philip’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the people of the United Kingdom in our hearts during this time.”
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family during these hard times.
