He started to post his statements only 29 days after he got banned from certain social media platform such as Twitter and Myspace.

His segment, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” has been swiped out of his website and the url redirects to a page to sign up for notifications via email and text alerts.

A Trump adviser reveals that Trump had shut down the site because he didn’t like that it was being mocked. On the plus side, he says that it didn’t have a lot of readers in the first place.

Jason Miller, senior Trump aide, tells CNBC that the site will not be making a comeback. The site was “just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.”

The site was first set up due to the president being banned from social media sites. The site was facing criticism and that it was a “sad excuse” for an alternative to the social media platforms he used to own.

A GOP strategist predicted that the site would shut down as a “precursor to him joining another social media platform?” And Miller responds back, “Yes, actually, it is. Stay tuned!”

Trump had promised that he would set up his own accounts after being booted, which he did, and insists that it is different from the “desk” blog that he set up. Miller says that he is “hoping to have more information on the broader efforts soon,” in regards to the new social media site.

Trump has also unveiled his new blog last month, saying that it is a “communication platform” in order to reach out directly to his supporters after losing access to everything else.

The “desk” site gave insight on what was going on the former president’s end and also the ability to easily share the statements to their own social media since he has lost his privilege.

Trump and his team had claimed that the desk site was just a way to pump out his statements which had also been sent through his email accounts. At the time, the page was a “great resource” in order to find his statements and says that it is not a new social media platform.
