Trump’s senior adviser has confirmed that there is a high chance that the former president will start his own social media site.
After getting banned from major social media networks including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube following the insurrection, Former President Trump has allegedly been considering setting up his own site as part of his comeback plan.
According to his senior adviser, Jason Miller, plans to build an independent social media platform have already been put into motion by the 45th President even though many dismissed his calls for a brand-new free speech site.
Speaking to Sharri Markson of Sky News Australia, Miller insisted that Americans want to know what Trump is working on and what he has to say to them.
“I think there’s a very good chance president Trump could set up his own social media platform – in which case regardless of what the platform is, it’s going to be the biggest once he joins it,” the senior adviser said.
“There have already been a number of meetings about both joining social media platforms and potentially setting up brand new social media platforms.”
While the former president has been relatively silent following the Capitol riot and his departure from the White House, it now appears that he is getting ready for a comeback, whereas having his own social media site would allow him to express his views and beliefs without suffering repercussions similar to those he faced in January after months of election fraud allegations.
Last week, Trump spoke out to Newsmax to double down on his fraud allegations and claim that Twitter has “become very boring” after his account got banned.
While the former president admitted he was considering joining Parler, he suggested the site would not be able to handle the traffic they would be experiencing if he joined the platform.
“There is also the other option of building your own site because we have more people than anybody. You can literally build your own site,” he confirmed at the time.
