The District Attorney for Manhattan has confirmed the news that Donald Trump’s company could face criminal charges as early as next week.
Local media outlets confirmed how the Trump Organization is most likely to face the charges by next week. The announcement comes as Trump’s team of attorneys received the news from the Manhattan DA office. This entailed details about how it would soon be pressing for criminal charges against the family-owned business.
While it is still unclear whether or not Donald Trump would be facing any of the charges himself, it is now clear how the criminal charges against his organization will come forward by next week, as confirmed by the New York Times.
On the other hand, the Trump Organization has denied any form of wrongdoing, calling the facts baseless. Meanwhile, reports also confirmed how the charges would in fact be related to the fringe benefits associated with the organization and how it awarded them to its own chief financial officer named Allen H. Weisselberg.
Just as the news relating to the matter broke out, the Trump Organization’s Ron Fischetti confirmed those very reports to the NBC News, confirming how he was now sure that they were in the midst of coming down on the company with big charges, while referring to the entire incident as ‘utterly outrageous’.
If and when it does take place, critics confirm how this will be one of the first series of criminal charges to have taken place from the long-standing investigation by Cyrus Vance into Donald Trump’s New York business.
Just over recent few weeks, there has been a grand jury in place who has reportedly heard all of the evidence relating to Weisselberg, while the prosecutors have also obtained personal tax returns from the executive too.
If the company is convicted or if it pleads guilty of the charges, then it could potentially face a large number of fines as well as other forms of penalties too, confirmed experts following the case closely.
