The former White House chief, Walter Shaub made a statement after seeing how Trump’s golfing cost has crossed more than $100 million.
He said that you should golf on your own dime act in 2019. Trump has spent more than 181 days of playing golf during his presidency until now.
Trump keeps visiting his gold resort in Ireland, which costs almost near $3.6 million to the taxpayers.
Recently while visiting London, the president thought of visiting Ireland so that he can shuttle between the two countries where he went to attend the 75th anniversary of the D Day.
Walter Shaub was serving under President Barack Obama, but he left his post months into Donald Trump’s presidency in 2017.
Trump has been taking golf trips, and all the majority of his trips have been on his property only, which makes him his own expense bearer. Trump used to visit his properties to make sure that the business of his properties keeps running well because of his frequent visits there.
Walter said that it is essential for the citizens of America to know that the leaders of the country cannot mix their financial and personal needs together.
The cost of Trump’s golf trip has been rising high, and after looking at it, Walter says that there should be a new act which will make the president the bearer of his trip to golf areas.
After seeing Obama go for gold outings, Trump used to criticize him, and before his presidency period, he also promised never to do the same while he is in the position of being a leader.
He stated to the citizens saying that He will be working for them all the time, so he won’t have time to go for golf outings, which is clearly not the case now.
Obama made sure that his gold trips were short and also cost nothing more than gas and overtime for the staff to the taxpayers.
Trump is trying to get public attention towards his properties by going there for his golf trips, and also his trips are costing much more to the taxpayers.
