Robin Baker, a California-based photographer, recently took photos of a home birth in action.
She is one of the best birth photographers who once won a prestigious award at Birth Blessings Photography & Childbirth Services.
The parents, who asked Baker to take photos, already had an experience of home birth with their first child, and determined to try the same thing with their next children. This time they had twins — a boy and a girl. As this is very important moment for their family, they decided to document their second home birth.

It is extraordinary to give birth to twins at home, but it was also special for their twin to be born “en caul,” or inside the amniotic sac — which happened to the second baby.
The amniotic sac gives the baby with the supply of nutrients, and acts as a protection from any injuries that might hurt the baby.Usually protective membrane of amniotic sac burst naturally and cause mother’s water to break while the birth process, which makes this birth so special.
Before the second baby arrived, the parents had bonding time with their first baby for 30 minutes.
They did not know their second baby would be born en caul until the moment came. Mother used her finger nail to puncture the amnionic sac, and dad helped her to make sure everything went well.

The babies were born before the birth team arrived. After the parents welcomed their babies, the birth team assisted them to deliver the placentas.
Baker interviewed with Buzzfeed and told them, “Since so many twins are born in the operating room, this birth was very special!”
Capturing this moment with her camera, Baker was so graceful to see all process of the birth of twins at home.
