Hundreds of people allow their adorable pets to compete for the Cadbury Bunny every year.
The title can go to a cat, a pig, a rabbit, or any other animal.
But whatever you do, don’t tell Lieutenant Dan that he is not a bunny! Once you see him in a pair of bunny ears and a basket of colorful eggs, you will believe that he is the real deal!
The 2-legged pooch is bravely competing to be the next Cadbury Bunny and he has already made it to the top ten.
There is no doubt that the competition is fierce and the only things standing between Lieutenant Dan and his Cadbury Crème Egg commercial are a hamster, a pig, a miniature horse, a llama, a duck, two other dogs and cats.
Judges will decide which one will become the Cadbury Bunny of the year based on three essential categories: creativity, brand appeal, and relevance to contest theme.
The two-year-old pooch has got an advantage. He jumps to and fro on his two legs just like an Easter bunny.
In an interview with The Cincinnati Enquirer, Lt. Dan’s adopted owners said that “he has a joy for life that’s infectious and inspiring.”
Dan was only five months old when Laura Weber adopted him.
“He doesn’t know that he has a handicap,” Weber said to CNN. “He just knows he has this wonderful life to live and he enjoys every day of it.”
If he wins, Lt. Dan will hop onto our television screens in the latest Cadbury ‘Clucking Bunny’ ad and Weber will receive $5,000.
But the cheerful pooch will be happy whether he wins or not. He is just thrilled to make it to the top 10!
