Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition had many amazing works such as the jaguar and her cub holding anaconda, mice having a fight on a tube platform, these are just some of the highlights that appeared in the competition.
Out of all the amazing shots, the mice on the London Underground won the contest as Sam Rowley’s ‘Station Squabble’ captured an amazing scene of two mice hassling over leftover food.
The shot came up victorious out of the 48,000 photographs of animals that were sent to the competition and out of the 25 final shots it was voted as the best.
The panel of judges said, “Sam discovered the best way to photograph the mice inhabiting London’s Underground was to lie on the platform and wait.”
“He only saw them fight over scraps of food dropped by passengers a few times, possibly because it is so abundant. This fight lasted a split second before one grabbed a crumb and they went their separate ways.”
Below are the award-winning shot and some of the other stunning works that made it to the final round.
