A two-month-old baby was left in between the space of two tombs, on the rodent-ridden ground of a Philippines graveyard.
And although he was just two months old, his cries were loud. He was heard by the residents of that area and rushed to see what the case in the Quezon cemetery was.
He was then taken to the hospital by those people in a tuk-tuk, the doctors said that he had been there for a few hours.
He was rescued on May 28, the locals have named him Louis, and they are even taking care of him when his parents abandoned him.
Later, Louis’ grandmother came forward and identified him, saying that her daughter was his mother. Lara Sentillas, the mother of the child was soon arrested by the officials.
Angel Castillo, a resident of the area where Louis was found said that they heard him crying and saw him wedged between the tombs. A few of the people cradled the baby and a few other rushed to call help.
The boy was abandoned in the night, the residents said that if no one would have heard him, things could have gotten much severe.
Castillo said that there are many stray dogs and rodents in the cemetery, and it is just the grace of the God that he is safe and unharmed.
Officers prosecuted the mother for willingly abandoning her child in Candelaria district of the city.
Chief Superintendent of Calabarzon Police Regional Director, Guillermo Eleazar will face criminal charges for her crime. The officials have also contacted with the local Social Welfare Department to file a case against Lara. Right now, the baby is with the council who is taking care of him.
