Link and Cuff, the two tiny turtles living in a small fishbowl in the film Rocky, have turned 44 years old!
Living with Sylvester Stallone, the two animals are now full-grown. They were originally adopted by the iconic film star after the filming of the movie was over.
In the film, Rocky Balboa went to the J&M Tropical Fish pet store to buy some food and other things for his two cute turtles, Link and Cuff. That’s where a budding romance with Adrian Pennino, who was a staff at the shop, started.
Cuff and Link gave him an excuse to go to the shop and became a bridge for the two to strengthen their bond. Then, their love grew deeper and moved beyond the shop, thanks to the adorable turtles that opened the door to romance.
Their love, and the film became iconic.
Even though some people forgot about the aquatic animal actors who made a big contribution, not all of us have! As a matter of fact, many people said that the turtles are their favorite stars from the movie.
While Link and Cuff have enjoyed decades of luxury with Stallone, they have also been staying active in their own careers.
In 2018, the two made a huge comeback in the film Creed II.
Stallone shared a photo of himself with his two pets on Instagram. He wrote: “In CREED 2 with my original buddies from the first Rocky … CUFF and LINK, now about 44 years old!”
Internet users were quick to reply, with one commenting: “Most famous turtles in the world lol.”
Another wrote: “OMG! I just came across this. It is pure happiness, Thank you SS. I must have saved a hundred turtles in my lifetime! Even stopping in the road to rescue all kinds.”
