Tyler Perry Asked Police Officers To Help Him Hand Out 1,000 Gift Cards To Locals In Need Of Support


American actor, entrepreneur, and media mogul Tyler Perry proved he has a heart of gold as he donated 1,000 gift cards and asked police officers to help distribute them among the locals in order to “bridge unity.

The 50-year-old director from Atlanta, Georgia, continues to give back to his community in these tough times, and this time he donated 1,000 Kroger gift cards.

To encourage positive relationships within his community and make sure people in need receive a helping hand, the ‘A Fall from Grace’ director, writer, and producer asked Atlanta police officers for help in distributing the gift cards.

“This is about the community that I love, that I live in and work in. This is about good people who are in need of a hand up not a hand out,” Perry expressed in a statement reported by PEOPLE.

“This is about the good police officers who do their job well every day some of which are my personal friends.

“This is about trying to bridge unity in a city that adopted me and held me up high enough to reach my own branch on the tree of success.”

In his statement, the actor also declared his love for the people of Atlanta by saying: “I love Atlanta and its people!”

This isn’t the first time Mr. Perry gave back to his community in the times of the pandemic. Just earlier in July, the 50-year-old presented 42 servers who went out of work with a generous $500 tip each.
